What is the difference between RTD and LTD? |
RTD and LTD are both adjustable style "click" type torque screwdrivers. RTD has a rotary slip mechanism which prevents overtorquing. When the set torque value is reached, the driver "clicks" the worker should stop applying force, but if they continue the driver will ratchet around without applying additional torque. The LTD will also "click" at the set torque value and will slightly spring back in the hand. At this point the worker should stop applying force as additional turning will add more torque. RTD is gold in color and LTD has a silver casing. RTD is the more popular series. |

Accuracy is plus or minus a percentage of each indicated scale reading. |

What does prelock mean? |
Prelock refers to the method of setting the torque value on PCL and PQL series. These wrenches have a scale but instead of a large knob to change the setting, it is done by using a hex key. It has the ease of adjustability yet is more secure so that the torque value is not as easily changed. |

What is the difference between QSP and QSP3? |
QSP3 is an updated version of some models in the series. QSP3 uses a special female hex key (#930 or #931) to change the preset torque value. QSP uses T-handle thrust ring tools (#310-316). QSP has an end cap which must be removed and a small thrust ring screw that must be loosened when setting the torque value. These steps are eliminated with QSP3 making setting more efficient and eliminates the chance of losing parts during the process. QSP and QSP3 must be tested on a torque checker in order to set the value correctly. |

How do I select the heads for CSP3 and CL3, interchangeable head torque wrenches? |
The model name is made up for the model series followed by max. torque value in Newtons then by the head root diameter in mm. For example: CSP50Nx12D The root dimension in this example is 12D, so it has a 12mm end and accepts only heads that have 12D in the model name. Refer to the heads selection pages to see the head choices: SH, open end, RH Ring head, QH ratchet heads, RQH female ratchet heads etc. For example: SH12DX10 is an open end head that will fit on the CSP50NX12D and has a 10mm open end that fits on the bolt head. Standard sizes are listed in the catalog. Other special sized are available upon request. Heads are tested to withstand the maximum torque for each wrench that they will fit on. |

Do I need any other accessories when using the LS series wrenches? |
LS or limit switch wrenches are basic click wrenches with a contact relay that allows tracking of the number of clicks the torque wrench makes. This alerts the worker to possible missed tightening. LS models have a specialized plug that is used in conjunction with our WA5219K, female twist connector that is then hardwired to our CNA-4mk2 Count Checker or directly to a PLC board. WA5219K and CNA-4mk2 are both sold separately. |

How far away from the receiver do the FM wrenches transmit? |
Approx.10 to 20 meters. Remote magnetic antennas allow for better reception when operating down in a pit or through other obstructions. See accessories for FM: FM-MBX, and FM-COD |

Does the QSP series come with the adjusting tool? |
No. The adjusting tools are sold separately. See #930, #931, or #310 through #315 depending on the model.
We can preset each wrench to the desired torque value for a nominal fee at the time of purchase. |

What is the difference between FTD and FTD2-S? |

What is the difference between QL and PQL? |
Both are adjustable click type torque wrenches but QL has a large knob on the end which makes changing the torque setting very easy. PQL is also adjustable but does not have a knob. It requires a hex key (included) to change the torque value. This helps to prevent unwanted changes in torque value but yet allows for easy setting without using a tester. |

Is there a warranty? |
All Tohnichi products are thoroughly checked and tested at the factory before shipment. The accuracy of each tool should be as stated for each model as a percentage of reading unless otherwise noted. Hand tool durability is based on repeated movement tests over a minimum of 100, 000 cycles by a durability testing machine. Should defects due to faulty materials and workmanship develop within one (1) year from the date of sale, it will be repaired and put in workable condition or replaced free of charge if returned to Tohnichi with proof of purchase. The warranty is not valid if the product has been misused, tampered with, or abused. |

I don't see any torque specifications for any of the LS wrenches. Where can I find this information? |
LS wrenches have the same specifications as the basic models. LS means a limit switch has been added for torque verification purposes. Please refer to the basic model series for the wrench specifications. For example: For QSPLS50N look up QSP50N |
