New Generation of Tohnichi CTB2-G Retightening Digital Torque Wrench Release (October 2010)

Northbrook, IL - (October 21, 2010) CTB2-G is the newest version of Tohnichi’s CTB2-Gdigital torque wrench designed especially for performing retightening tests for torque inspections.  Retightening tests are one of most common ways to perform quality inspections on fasteners that have already been tightened by hand or machine.  The test involves retightening the fastener just until the bolt head starts to move. This can often be difficult to detect and data can vary among users because of differences in technique.  Tohnichi created the CTB to assist with collecting data that is closest to the original tightening value and more consistent between users. By using T-Point torque methodology and incorporating a gyro sensor, the wrench is able to detect the initial movement of the bolt head and then calculates what torque the bolt was originally tightened to.  The new CTB2-G features new body styling, Ni-MH rechargeable battery for up to 20hrs continuous use, multiple units of measure selection by keypad, additional communications setups, CCW testing, and an expanded 999 data storage capacity.  The CTB2-G includes an interchangeable ratcheting square drive head, rechargeable battery pack and quick charger along with a certificate of calibration.
Available in 8 different model sizes covering an overall torque range of 2Nm up to 850Nm. CTB2-G allows for selection of different units of measure in equivalent ranges by keypad selection: Nm./kgf.cm./kgf.m./lbf.ft./lbf.in.  Visit www.tohnichi.com/products/digital-torque-wrench-CTB2-G.asp for complete specifications.

New Tohnichi RTDLS and RNTDLS Torque Screwdrivers for Tightening Verification. (May 2010)
RTDLS Northbrook, IL - (May 20, 2010) Tohnichi introduces new limit switch versions of its popular RTD and RNTD Torque Screwdriver series. The “LS” or limit switch adds a micro switch and cable to the torque screwdrivers. This additional feature creates the ability to track the number of clicks that the torque screwdriver generates as it reaches the target torque setting. The RTDLS and RNTDLS are ideal for applications where missed screw tightening can lead to loss of product quality. When the limit switch cable is connected to a PLC or to Tohnichi’s CNA-4mk2 Count Checker the clicks generated by the torque screwdrivers can be tracked, creating a verification system that will signal the user with lights and buzzers to possible missed tightening. RTDLS features easily adjustable torque setting with external scale and lock ring, while RNTDLS is preset to one torque setting to prevent any possible tampering with the torque set value. RNTDLS and RTDLS both feature a pivoting hanger clip and swiveling cable connection. Available in SI, Metric, and English units of measure. Visit www.tohnichi.com for complete specifications.

Handle Styling Prevents Over torque for SF and CSF Series (Sept 2006)
For SF and CSF, Flat Beam Torque Wrench Series, a new style handle will be phased in over the next few months. The previous models had a ball shaped end. The handle features a distinctive effective length line, so the user can easily verify the pulling point.
Tohnichi Upgrades Head Styling and Grips for Torque Wrenches (Spring 2006)
Over the next year Tohnichi will introduce into the market Version 4 of the following: Models: QL, QL-MH, PQL, and QSP. These wrenches will feature smaller outside diameter ratchet heads and increased thickness. These changes allow for ease of use in getting into smaller areas and also strengthen the heads durability. New model names will be used to indicate this change by the addition of “4” to the model name. Note that head parts will be different than the previous models. Smaller models of DB, Dial Beam Torque Wrenches, will have a newly designed grip. This grip style will assist customers in preventing over torque conditions during use. The slim line handle conveys a "lighter" hand force should be applied using fingers instead of the normal stronger full hand grip. Reducing chance of over torque will lead to longer product life and increased customer satisfaction. Models reflecting this change will have “4” added to the model name.
